WHAT’S GOING ON AT EPIC THEATRE?
The past four weeks have been jam-packed with a variety of workshops exploring comedy, circus, theatre sports, Japanese theatre and script work. Theatre sports were an excellent way to kick off the series of workshops with various members of the crew pushing personal comfort zones. Whilst the crew looked at some well known stand up comedians, the first week proved to be the most entertaining with playing the Big Booty game... quite loudly. We concluded the EPIC Theatre program with an exploration of the plays Away and Waiting For Godot which was challenging but exciting since all of the crew proved to be quite talented actors. The EPIC crew has truly been open to new forms and ways of expressing themselves which has been really rewarding.
Get involved and become a member of the EPIC Crew... it is run by young people for young people! Build confidence, learn skills, share REAL stories, explore REAL issues and perform REAL theatre in your community. Come along, get inspired and have some REAL fun! Stay tuned for more info on the next upcoming project!

SOULFUL COLLABORATIONS
This last month has been crazy busy and heaps of cool things are happening.
We have been mentoring a crew of up and coming Hip Hop artists and workshops facilitators who are going to be running a 3 day Workshop on the last week of the school Holidays. LIFT YOUR GAME. Stay posted for all the detail.
We ran an awesome HIP HOP workshop with Loustar and Jamie Derrick for the Annex Program Keebra Park. It went off and we can't wait for the next one.
DRASTIC has been seriously FUN!!!! and the crew we have look like they will be around for a while making Inter Urban Arts an even better crew of SOULFUL, CREATIVE, INTERESTING and INSPIRING peeps.
I presented at 2 conferences this month with the lovely Angela Delaney ( Gold Coast Musician, Music Therapist and Laughter Leader), Priority 1 in Logan - Creative Intervention in Child and Youth Mental Health and The National Music Therapies Conference.
We have been working furiously to prepare for our Urban Choir: A youth focused Choir for everyone over 12. It is about getting together, having fun and singing all kinds of music from acapella hip hop to original folk. Putting a youth twist on some classic hits! the choir will be rehearsing over 20 weeks and showcasing in 2 community performances early next year. Bring your love, Bring your talent, and bring a plate ( if you can) Starting 12th Oct 4pm-6pm See poster below for details

Contact Academy!
One word to describe
Three of Inter Urban Arts’ very own mentors engaged in a series of intensive workshops ran by Contact Inc. For three whole days we immersed ourselves in the creative industries and what it has to offer. Each workshop varied in focus, from singing and choir to hip hop dancing right through to theatre and circus, it was evident that every workshop had something unique to offer. Throughout the course of the three days, we were privileged to hear from some industry professionals, educating us in the areas of acting, sustainability, cinematic theatre and the inside scope on “making it” as such in the industry. We were able to make many valuable contacts for the future. After the conclusion of the three days we were filled with inspiration and a burning motivation to really get into the community and make a difference. Overall it was a sensational experience. Look out for more information of how you could get involved with Contact Inc!
